Company History & Background
St Helen's Finance Plc (ticker-SHF) is listed on PLUS-quoted (formerly OFEX), a market operated by PLUS Markets Group plc for the trading of unlisted securities.
SHF launched its Open Offer for Subscription in July 2004, raising approx £600,000 before it commenced trading on PLUS (OFEX) in September 2004.
Over the following 15 months, the company built its initial infrastructure and started establishing relationships with high quality introducers of transactions, resulting in a solid portfolio of gross receivables of £1.6million by 31 December 2005.
In May 2006 SHF closed a successful Restricted Offer that raised £543,000 and announced that total debt facilities available from lenders had reached £3million, enabling it to drive the growth of the portfolio.
Headed by Managing Director, Norman Kenvyn, SHF has a highly experienced core team covering the sales, credit and finance functions to grow earning assets and provide a first class service to its customers.

Norman Kenvyn (Managing Director)
Norman has over 25 years' experience in the financial sector. He was one of the first European employees at GE Capital, who recruited him from Lombard . Whilst at GE, Norman was selected for the Pinnacle Club of high performers. Following 8 years at GE, Norman joined Central Hispano Leasing /AT&T Capital as UK Sales Director.
Norman has been the Managing Director since the launch of SHF and was the sole full-time employee until September 2005.
Alan Irving (Operations Director)
Alan joined SHF in June 2006 as Credit Manager, with specific responsibility for deal structuring, and overall credit control of the SHF portfolio, and was appointed to the Board as an Executive Director in November 2006. He is a Member of the Institute of Credit Management , and has over 35 years' experience in the leasing and instalment credit industry.
Prior to joining SHF, he was Head of Credit for 9 years at Siemens Financial Services Ltd., part of the global giant Siemens AG, and previously held a number of positions at Anglo Leasing Ltd. over an 18 year period, culminating in the role of Operations Director.
Andrew Daniel (Broker Manager)
Andrew joined SHF in July 2006 as Broker Manager. Andrew's responsibilities include maintaining the strong relationships that SHF has with its Broker Clients as well as increasing and developing SHF's Broker portfolio.
Prior to joining SHF, Andrew spent 5 years at Siemens Financial Services where he acted as Team Leader for the Broker Department.
Philip Storey (Finance Manager)
Philip has 35 years experience in the leasing industry gaining his early training with a city merchant bank which leased ships, aircraft and plant & machinery. Philip also gained experience in the small ticket leasing market as company accountant for a corporate lessor and, on his return to the city, as company accountant for an operating lessor which leased aircraft and coaches.
Philip subsequently joined the Treasury department of the Prudential as Group Leasing Manager where he managed a £50m lease portfolio.
Chris Dodge (Assistant Finance Manager)
Chris joined us in February 2008 to work with Philip. Whilst he came out of the industry for a short period, he was previously Manager of the Finance Department at ING Lease (UK) Ltd for 11 years between 1991 and 2002. He has a wide experience within the finance area, including company secretarial work and will further strengthen the commitment to our customers to ensure a rapid processing of deals sent to us for payout.
Sarah Hammond (Sales Administrator)
Sarah joined us in January 2008 to work with Andrew in the Broker Sales area. She is new to the industry and achieved a BSc (Single Hons) in Marketing at the University of Roehampton, Surrey in 2006. She had previously worked as a Customer Service Agent in an industry allied to air travel, so she has front line experience in a service-based organisation.
Paul Murray (Broker Manager)
Paul has been involved in the asset finance industry for over 25 years, having worked for Lloyds & Scottish Finance, Bank of Ireland, and Five Arrows Group, as well as running his own brokerage for a number of years. His role within St Helen's is to secure business direct from end users, which is then funded via our external lenders and syndication members.
This does not conflict with the main source of business for the company which is from the outside intermediary market.
Rick Abbott (Non-executive Chairman)
Rick has an extensive and successful City background, having previously been a Managing Director of ABN-Amro responsible for their financial sector business. Prior to this he was Global Head of the financial sector industry group at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.
Before being involved in setting up SHF he was Chief Executive of Park Row Group Plc, where he implemented a complete restructuring of the business ahead of a profitable sale to Royal Liver Assurance in May 2003. While at Morgan Grenfell Rick was a director of their leasing activities.
Richard Guilbert (Non-executive Director)
Richard has some 20 years of experience in the industry. He is a partner of the consultancy firm Invigors and was previously European General Manager of Dell Financial Services and C.O.O. of CIT Europe.
His prior experience includes time with several major leasing companies including 5 years as Managing Director of Chase Leasing/Central Hispano Leasing in the UK . Richard is a chartered accountant by qualification.
Braden Harris (Non-executive Director)
Braden has 21 years experience working in the leasing and asset finance industry. He is a director of Cleaves, who are active in arranging and structuring investment and leasing projects in the maritime sector, as well as the sale and purchase of commercial cargo vessels on behalf of its clients.
He has held positions with Babcock and Brown, Jet Finance in France, ANZ Investment Bank in London and Singapore and Allco Finance, where he established a ship owning and leasing venture.
